netADIT enters its 6th Generation

netADIT Version 6.0.0 will be available starting March 1st, 2024: A small step in terms of appearance, but a giant leap in technology.

What does this mean?

With this new release, not only has there been a minor update in appearance, but significant technological advancements have also been made, significantly enhancing the performance and security of netADIT.

Key highlights include:

• New Base Operating System: netADIT itself, along with the netADIT-HSGboxes and netADIT-NACboxes, now run on Almalinux 9.x or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHLE) 9.x. This upgrade provides an optimized operating environment, improved compatibility, and long-term availability of updates and security patches.

• REST API Implementation: The implementation of a REST API simplifies the integration of netADIT with other systems and the automation of processes, leading to a smoother and more efficient workflow.

• Two-Factor Authentication (2-FA): To further strengthen security, there is now the option of Two-Factor Authentication. This provides additional protection for administrative access to netADIT and its features.

In addition to these major updates, there are also some minor changes aimed at enhancing user experience, such as:

• Enhanced Device Handling: Additional configuration options in naMACauth allow for even more precise device availability restrictions.

• Email Alerting: For alerting purposes, an external SMTP server can now be optionally connected and used via TLS with SMTP-Auth.

• Additional Access Control: Additional access control features help reduce the attack surface both in the administrative area and in remote management.
